Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Yoakum Independent School District will be held Monday, April 13, 2026, at 6:00 P.M., in the Board Conference Room of the Yoakum Independent School District, 315 E. Gonzales Street, Yoakum, Texas.

The subjects to be discussed or considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as follows:

  1. Roll call
  2. Approve minutes of the regular board meeting of March 9, 2026
  3. Communications
    1. Report of the Tax Assessor/Collector
    2. Principals’ report and enrollment update
    3. TASB UHV Spring Workshop
    4. TASB/Summer Leadership Institute Workshop
    5. Report on Special Education from Jason Appelt
  4. Public comments

  6. New business
    1. Authorize the District to initiate Application for Federal Funds for 2026-2027
    2. Consider/Approve contract with SECCA for Title Programs and Carl Perkins funds and applications

If, during the course of the meeting, discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in a closed meeting, the Board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Government Code, Chapter 551, Subchapters D and E or Texas Government Code section 418.184(f).  Before any closed meeting is convened, the presiding officer will publicly identify the section or sections of the Act authorizing the closed meeting.  All final votes, actions, or decisions will be taken in open meeting.
