Welcome to the Yoakum Junior High Library Homepage.The Library is open to students and faculty from 7:50 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on school days. The Library contains over 10,000 books covering a wide range of reading and interest levels. Students may have up to two books checked out at a time. |
Accelerated ReaderThe Accelerated Reader program is part of the Reading program at Yoakum Junior High. This is a reading program that allows each student to read at his or her reading level, take a computerized test to check comprehension and receive points based on the difficulty of the book and the number of correct answers. Students reaching a set number of points at the end of the year receive an award. The Library has well over 9,000 AR quizzes to choose from, giving the students a wide variety of reading options. |

Reading is Fundamental (RIF)Sixth grade students at Yoakum Junior High participate in the Reading is Fundamental program. Three times throughout the year the students are provided an opportunity to select and keep a book at no cost to the student or their parents. This program's goals are |

Book FairThe Yoakum Junior High hosts two Scholastic Book Fairs throughout the school year. The first Fair is held in October and the second in March for one week. Parents are welcome to come to the Book Fair at anytime. |
