HealthJunior
high students who meet
entry criteria are strongly encouraged to begin preparation for high
school by taking Advanced Academic Strategies. These include
Communication Applications (1/2) and Health (1/2) courses.
These courses will count for credit toward graduation, but in most
cases will not count in determining class rank. These courses are
high school courses and require extensive study and are academically
demanding. Because of the nature of these courses, it is
important that students meet the entry criteria for advanced standing
courses and maintain eligibility to remain in the course for the
duration of the school year. Students taking high school credit
courses in junior high must adhere to the high school passing
standards. To receive credit for a high school course, the student must
make at least a 70 average or better. Students not meeting this
standard must retake the entire course in high school.
