Criteria for
awarding
Scholarship:

1.
Recipient
to be an active member of First United Methodist Church of Yoakum,
Texas
who participates in church and youth activities.
|
|
2.
Recipient
to be a graduating senior who will enroll in college, university, or
vocational
school; or a student who is in one of the above mentioned.
|
|
3. There
is
to be no discrimination with regard to sex, age or race.
|
|
4.
Emphasis
to be on the recipient's desire to gain an education rather than on
scholastic
honors or excellence.
|
|
5.
Interest
earned by the principal of the fund is to determine the amount to be
awarded
each year.
|
|
6. Each
year
the scholarship committee of the church is to meet in January and
March.
The January meeting will be to set the amount to be given that year and
the
March meeting to select the recipient or recipients.
|
|
7.
Applications
to be in by March 8th. Selections are announced at the Awards
Ceremony
when other scholarships are awarded.

|
8.
Certification
of award to be presented at time of the Awards Ceremony. Money is
to
be made available at the time of student's enrollment in the
institution
and to be used for fees, books, supplies or other expenses incurred in
pursuit
of education and training.

|
9. The
committee
is to be composed of the pastor, chairman of the Administrative
Council,
Chairman of the trustees, an administrator or teacher at the Yoakum
Public
School, and a representative of the Sanfilippo family. If
there
are no qualified applicants, the committee may choose not to award a
scholarship for that year.
|
|
10. Funds
to
be administered by the church and reports on the balance in the fund
and
interest accrued to be made regularly with report of other finances of
the
church.
