An introductory course designed to provide an overview of telecommunications, analog and digital transmission, switching, digital hierarchies, transmission standards, microwave and satellite communications, plug lightwave systems and local area networks.

Prerequisite:    Telecommunications Tech I
Second level instruction is conducted through study and lab projects to demonstrate the basic principles of electricity, alternating current inductances and capacitance, reactance, alternating current circuit theory, diodes, transistors switches, resonant circuits, oscillatory, and transformers.

Prerequisite:    Algebra I recommended
This course is designed to provide an in-depth study of the major components for computer science.  Course content will include programming methodologies, programming languages, data systems, algorithms, computing applications, and computer systems.

Prerequisite:    Computer Science I
A second course offered in the science of computing and programming.  Computer Science II examines advanced topics including text files, user-defined data types, data structures, records, file manipulation, sets, and use of dynamic variables.

Prerequisite:    None
An occupationally specific course which introduces the concepts, tool, and skills of desktop publishing.  Special emphasis is given to utilizing sophisticated hardware and software to prepare document layout and designs, integrate text and graphics, assemble text and graphics into pages utilizing page layout packages, and output of the pages to a laser printer.  The course provides preparation for employment in a desktop publishing position or advanced standing at the post secondary level.

This course will allow students to select and integrate computer-based productivity tools, including, but not limited to, work processor, database, spreadsheet, telecommunications, draw, paint, and utility programs to develop and modify solutions to problems and to create new knowledge for multimedia products.
0362    Web Mastering   TECH PREP CREDIT

Prerequisite:    None
This course will allow students to create and edit WWW documents using established design principles including consistency, repetition, alignment, proximity, ratio of text to white space, image file size, color use, font size, type, and style.  Students will be able to synthesize and publish information in a variety of ways including printed copy, monitor display, Internet documents, and video.
