    SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

    Scholarships will be made available to children of sorority members and non-sorority members (without preferential consideration to children of members).  A sorority member may not be a member of the Scholarship Committee during the year her child or grandchild is a senior.  The student must be planning to attend a two or four-year college.

    • The student must be a senior.
    • The deadline for applying will be set by the Yoakum High School Counselor.
    • The applicant must be a full-time student during college course of study.  (Minimum 12 hours)  
    • The scholarship will be made payable to the Registrar's office upon acceptance to the college of the student's choice.  The student is responsible for notifying the sorority when and where payment is to be made.
    • If the scholarship recipient does not use any of the scholarship by registration of the Spring semester following graduation from high school, the scholarship will be awarded to the alternate choice of the scholarship committee.
    • If any balance remains on the registrar's books at the end of any semester, it is to be applied to the next semester for that same student.  If the student does not register for the next semester, the balance is then to be refunded to Xi Upsilon Psi, Yoakum, Texas.
    • The student must have applied for admission to a college prior to the interview.
    • The student must have a four year average of  85 or better.
    • The scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books only.
