PILOT CLUB OF YOAKUM, INC.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

Pilot scholarships will be made available to children of Pilot members and non-Pilot members (without preferential consideration to children of members).  A Pilot may not be a member of the Education Committee during the year her child or grandchild is a senior.

Two Pilot Club Scholarships will be awarded with one being designated as a Memorial Scholarship.

The Pilot Club of Yoakum has set the following guidelines for selecting recipients and awarding their scholarships:

  1. The senior student must be planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college, trade school, or enter a nursing program.
  2. The student must take the responsibility of filling out an application form and returning it to the Pilot Club of Yoakum Scholarship Committee in care of Yoakum High School Counselor, Yoakum High School.
  3. The deadline for applying will be set by the Yoakum High Counselor.
  4. The applicant must be a full-time student during their course of  study.
  5. The scholarship will be made payable to the Registrar's office upon acceptance to the college of the student's choice.  The student receiving the scholarship should notify the Pilot Club upon enrollment in his or her respective school.
  6. The Scholarship Funds must be used by the start of the second semester, or by the Spring Quarter in the case of a trade school.  If the scholarship is not used within the allotted time, it is to be awarded to the Alternate choice of the Scholarship Committee.  Students delaying enrollment to a later semester/quarter should notify the Pilot Club of their intentions to prevent their scholarship from being awarded to an alternate.
