Criteria for awarding
scholarship:

1.
Recipient
to be active in community activities that work toward a cleaner,
neater,
and prettier City of Yoakum at least through entire senior year.
If
active in such activities prior to senior year, documentation should
also be included of these activities, along with documentation for the
senior year,
when completing the application.

2.
Recipient
to be a graduating senior who will enroll in college, university, or
vocational
school; or a student who is in one of the above mentioned.
|
|
3. There
is
to be no discrimination with regard to sex, age, or race.
|
|
4.
Emphasis
to be on the recipient’s desire to gain an education rather than on
scholastic
honors or excellence.
|
|
5.
Scholarship
will be in the amount of $500.00.
|
|
6.
Applications
will be turned in to YHS Counselor by March 6th . Selection will
be
announced at the Awards Ceremony when other scholarships are awarded.
|
|
7. A
certificate
will be presented at time of Awards Ceremony. Money is to be made
available
at the time of student’s enrollment in the institution and to be used
for
fees, books, supplies, or other expenses incurred in pursuit of
education
and training. Check will be made out jointly to student and their
school
of choice.
