David Bowen, a 1980
graduate
of Yoakum High School, earned the distinction of being a World Champion
calf
roper. He was killed in a plane crash, and a memorial scholarship
has
been established to honor his memory. The hard-work and
dedication
he exemplified in achieving his goal in life is a model for all to
follow.
