| The Dewitt-Lavaca A&M Mothers Club will provide a $500 scholarship for an outstanding student selected from the following high schools: Cuero, Hallettsville, Moulton, Sacred Heart, Shiner, St. Paul, and Yoakum. | |
| Applicants must be high school seniors who have applied and been accepted at Texas A&M University. | |
| Selection of the scholarship winner will be based on scholastic achievements, leadership potential, and scholastic potential. An alternate will also be chosen. | |
| Scholastic rankings, after completion of the first semester of the senior year, must place the applicant in the upper ¼ of the class or have an 80 or above average. | |
| The applicant’s SAT score or comparable test score should accompany the application. | |
| A typewritten (double-spaced) essay, not to exceed two pages in length, will be required of each applicant. This essay is to accompany the application form. Subject of the essay is “Why I Want to Attend Texas A&M University”. | |
| Deadline for applications is March 2005. Turn in to school counselor or principal. The application must be in the hands of the scholarship committee by April 2005. | |
| Final selection of the award winner will be made by April 2005. The award winner, alternate, and their parents will be guests at the Aggie Muster and Banquet held in April 2005. | |
| IMPORTANT: APPLICANTS MUST FILL OUT THE APPLICATION FORM, ATTACH A 3” X 5” PHOTOGRAPH, HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT, PRINCIPAL OR COUNSELOR RECOMMENDATION, COPY OF COLLEGE ENTRANCE TEST SCORES (SAT/ACT),A COPY OF THE ACCEPTANCE LETTER FROM TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY, AND A TWO PAGE, TYPEWRITTEN, DOUBLE SPACED ESSAY ON “WHY I WANT TO ATTEND TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY.” |
